The Studio for the Performing Arts, Inc. (SPA) was founded in 1997 in Newark, NY. For the last 14 years our goal has been to give students a dance education in an environment that is structured, challenging, rewarding, emotionally safe, and encouraging, while promoting the love of dance.
Preschool Program
TINY TOTS
2 & 3 year olds • $40 per month

This class is designed to help toddlers with socialization skills as well as motor skills. This is a fun thirty minute class of movement and the first step of three in our pre-school program.
CREATIVE MOVEMENT
3 - 5 year olds • $40 per month

The Creative Movement class is the next step developed for our youngest dancers; class time is extended to forty-five minutes. Our curriculum is designed especially to encourage their wonderful imaginations, love of move-ment and song, to create a fun yet educational classroom setting. At this level our goal is to start teaching the basic ballet positions and terms, while continuing to develop motor skills.
PRE-COMBO
5 - 7 year olds • $50 per month

Pre-Combo has been developed as the third step for our young dancers. Here students are familiar with basic bal-let and will continue to work on ballet vocabulary, form, and technique. Students will now start learning the basics of Tap the terms, sounds and steps. The class increases from forty-five minutes to an hour.

The Studio for the Performing Arts Ballet Company is a pre-professional ballet company founded in the fall of 2006. The Ballet Company is comprised of pre-professional yet talented and dedicated young dancers with the mission to present ballet performances at a professional level.
It has been the goal of Heather Colletti, the founder and artistic director, to promote the love and art of ballet through education and performance. Therefore the company’s focus is on developing a professional performance atmosphere for each dancer. Its dancers approach their preparation and execution of rehearsals and performances with an attitude that reflects qualities of hard work and dedication. They learn respect for the choreographer, the choreography, faculty, volunteers and other dancers.

Curriculum
We meet various dance abilities with an array of well-disciplined classes in ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, hip hop and tap. For our younger students, instructors use age-appropriate methods to help further develop motor skills, socialization, discipline, poise, and self-esteem.
Ballet is the foundation of the SPA dance curriculum, as it introduces students to essential terms and techniques needed to launch and maintain a strong dance education. It is designed to guide students from early, fundamental creative movement classes to more technically rigorous advanced classes, where motivated students can prepare for further training in college or beyond.
LITTLE STAR PROGRAM
Ages 7 & Up • $65 per month

This program is designed to challenge aspiring dancers. Students continue their ballet and tap training but also begin to learn two new forms of dance; jazz & lyrical This is a fun filled 90 min. class.
BIG STAR PROGRAM

MINI PROGRAM
This NEW program is designed to continue challenging aspiring dancers who have already completed our Little Stars Program. Students continue their ballet , tap, jazz & lyrical training . This is an advanced class and requires the teacher’s permission to enroll. This is a fun filled 90 min. class.
Ages 8 & Up • $115 per month

Our Mini Program is conveniently scheduled on one night. Our exciting curriculum gives our dancers an opportunity to continue to learn discipline, poise, dedication, and respect along with their technique in ballet, jazz, lyrical, and tap. This fun filled class is 2 ½hour s.
JUNIOR PROGRAM
Ages 10 & Up • $115 per month

Our exciting Junior Program takes our dancers into the next level of their dance education . Our more advanced curriculum gives our dancers an opportunity to demon-strate all that they have learned during their dance train-ing by being challenged with more complex chorography while maintaining proper technique in ballet, jazz, lyrical, and tap. This fun filled class is 2 ½hours.
Students are welcome to audition for our Pointe program once enrolled in the Junior program.
SENIOR PROGRAM
Ages 11 & Up
$135 per month for full program / $115 for ½ program

Our Senior Program includes students that love dance. Some of them want to continue in a college, conservatory or com-pany level and others go on and become physical therapist or dance teachers. Where ever they go once they leave our school it is our job to prepare them for what is to come. Our advanced Senior curriculum challenges dancers with techni-cally rigorous advanced classes and complex chorography.

Our Pointe program is for our dedicated young ladies who want to learn the beauty of dancing in pointe shoes. Pointe students must take dance classes at SPA and placement is determined by the teacher. Each class is one hour.

HOMESCHOOLER PROGRAM

We are happy to provide a program that fulfills New York State PE requirements during the day for the Home-schoolers in our area. Our hour long program is a great way to learn dance & socialize in an emotionally safe environ-ment.
Placement is determined by SPA Faculty, schedule an audition time today!! Remember students are placed according to their ability not their age.
